Avellanas Surf Photography Costa Rica was formed by Jorgelina and Barney.
Jorgelina was born and raised at the beach in Mar del Plata, Argentina, where she studied photography at "El Taller de Fotografia", learning about lighting, film processing, developing and then entering into digital photography. She also worked in a Travel Agency until she moved to Tamarindo, Costa Rica for good in 2003.
Barney grew up spending his summers in Ventnor, NJ where he got into surfing and skating. He is a Union Boilermaker by trade, and began shooting skateboarding for fun at FDR and local pools around Philly, PA, his hometown. In 2004 he moved to Tamarindo, Costa Rica, and teamed up with some local videographers and skaters to make a couple of short skate videos.
In 2006, Jorgelina and Barney met, fell in love and started SILVER SEA PHOTO VIDEO. Since then they've been filming and editing together, both videos and photos. Some of their work can be found in youtube (search: silverseavideo).
In August 2008, after their first baby, Noah, was born, they moved to Avellanas, kept on shooting surfing videos from the beach and water. They decided to concentrate more on photos on a daily basis and videos just for private sessions.
That's how Avellanas Surf Photography Costa Rica was created.
Last april 2010 we welcomed Kaya, our latest addition to the family.
"We love to see the STOKE in the eyes of the customers when they see pictures of themselves SURFING."
